Common side effects
- Appetite loss
- absence of menstrual periods
- color change in skin
- diarrhea
- hair loss
- nausea
- stomach discomfort or pain
- texture change in nails
- vomiting
Severe side effects
- Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue)
- bloody, black, or tarry stools
- chest pain
- fainting
- fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
- red, swollen, or blistered skin
- severe or persistent dizziness
- severe or persistent stomach pain
- shortness of breath
- sores in the mouth or on the tongue
- sudden, unusual weight gain
- swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet
- symptoms of infection (eg, fever, chills, cough, sore throat, burning or painful urination)
- symptoms of kidney or urinary tract problems (eg, blood in the urine, change in the amount of urine produced, lower back pain, red or pink urine)
- symptoms of liver problems (eg, dark urine, pale stools, persistent loss of appetite, severe stomach pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes)
- symptoms of low blood sodium levels (eg, confusion, decreased coordination, fainting, hallucinations, headache, memory problems, mental or mood changes, seizures, sluggishness, trouble concentrating, weakness)
- unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual or severe tiredness or weakness
