Common side effects

  • Appetite loss
  • absence of menstrual periods
  • color change in skin
  • diarrhea
  • hair loss
  • nausea
  • stomach discomfort or pain
  • texture change in nails
  • vomiting

Severe side effects

  • Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue)
  • bloody, black, or tarry stools
  • chest pain
  • fainting
  • fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  • red, swollen, or blistered skin
  • severe or persistent dizziness
  • severe or persistent stomach pain
  • shortness of breath
  • sores in the mouth or on the tongue
  • sudden, unusual weight gain
  • swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet
  • symptoms of infection (eg, fever, chills, cough, sore throat, burning or painful urination)
  • symptoms of kidney or urinary tract problems (eg, blood in the urine, change in the amount of urine produced, lower back pain, red or pink urine)
  • symptoms of liver problems (eg, dark urine, pale stools, persistent loss of appetite, severe stomach pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes)
  • symptoms of low blood sodium levels (eg, confusion, decreased coordination, fainting, hallucinations, headache, memory problems, mental or mood changes, seizures, sluggishness, trouble concentrating, weakness)
  • unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual or severe tiredness or weakness
